Another one done - well the top any how!

Funny, this project took forever and now that it is mostly done - I'm not sure if I like it anymore. I envisioned my design as being tone on tone pinks. However I decided I had better add some boyish colors or the hubby would never let me put this on the bed. The quilt pattern is so busy - it really needed to be tone on tone. I still enjoy the concept, just wish I had stuck with my original plan. Lesson learned I guess.
I still want to finish it.
What do you guys think? Speaking of what do you think, any suggestions on what I should do for quilting styles? I was thinking of maybe the wavy pattern I did on the outside strips on the baby quilt? Or maybe hand quilting on my loom around the circles, birds and diamonds? Please leave me your comments, I would really love to hear what you think!

On another note - I am doing a fun swap with Stacey from Simply Crunchy. She needs fabric for a hexi quilt and will make you knitted wash cloths in return. This is what I am sending:
I cant wait to get my wash cloths, I love the knitted ones.
Cheers,
Carolyn

  1. First off I have to say I like the quilt top you did a lovely job. I understand what you mean when you say something doesn't turn out the way you see it in your mind. I have that happen to me all the time, but after the fact when I take a break from it & re-visit the item I usually find I like it more. I'm just to hard on myself & you are probably similar in that regard.

Also have to say a BIG thank you about the fabric woo hoo & a pic even can't wait for it to show up. I will get your dish cloths in the mail today!!! Thanks again :)

  2. OMG, I think it's great. I think you should finish it, it would be a shame if you didn't. I will wait for the pic...

  3. Wow that is one *totally* unique quilt, I love it (even though I am not one for pink)! My strongest instinct is to fill those circles with flowers or spirals (this week in the quilt along is perfectly timed?). The birds - are the ovals around them bird cages? If not, I might just do some kind of meandering around them, maybe occasionally throwing in a little sketch or word?. In the patchwork section you could do anything! Perhaps when you decide on the top two sections the patchwork section could integrate some design elements from both? I will be interested to see where you go with this. It is a bit of a dilemma by virtue of being so different. But what a nice problem to have - you're unique!
