More fun books

Is anyone else reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels? I got hooked on them after watching the first few episodes of True Blood, I knew I had to check out the books. I just got the newest Stackhouse book and I am very excited to read it! I am forcing myself to wait until I finish the one I am reading on my eReader before I open this one. OH, but I want to read this one!!
Here it is:
I also got this fabulous little book. I saw it in the quilt shop, the one I shall not name that I have a credit at.
They had a sticker over the price - they wanted $19.95, so I pulled out my trusty iPhone and looked up Chapter's price on it, they had it for $13.95. This was perfect as you need a $30 dollar order to get free shipping so I got my Stackhouse book! Its a win win!! For me that is, not for the quilt store, but they should stop trying to rip me off and I would buy more. The only book I am pining for now is the Sarah Fielk - Quilting From Little Things. I actually only want one pattern, but I will take the whole thing. =) ha ha Its not available in Canada from what I can find, I tried to find it on Connecting Threads, but they do not have it either... I will keep pining!
K, I have to finish these silly place mats. Have a great evening everyone!
Cheers,
Carolyn

  2. I've listened to a couple of the Sookie Stackhouse books. Fun to quilt by, unless I get too into the story and mess up the sewing.

Just finished "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness, which I first heard about on NPR. SOOO good! I got it from the library, but intend to buy a copy. That doesn't happen often!. Its vampires and witches, with a large helping of genetic science, and philosophy. If you check it out, let me know what you think.

  3. I saw this book (Little Birds)at our local book store. It looked good but I didn't buy it.

I haven't read any of Charlaine Harris. I hope to some day. Anohter author that is really good is Kelley Armstong. I've read quite a few of her books. Her first book is Bitten.(About werewolves) And right now I'm reading through the Laurell K. Hamilton's books. They are great!!! (Vamps, werewolves and others - really fast paced)

I hope your mats are coming along nicely. Now go sew! LOL!! Oh, I've been checking everywhere, and haven't found any flavored beers. But I haven't given up yet! :-)

  4. I just finished the first Sookie Stackhouse -- I got it from the library when I saw it here -- I liked it. I'm going to get the next one as soon as I finish the books in line ahead of it!
