The Fix-Up

Here is that jacket I get to mend that I mentioned yesterday. Not too bad, just some ware on the pockets and the sleeves.
Oh, and this pocket is totally ripped out:

To fix the cuffs and the pockets, I bought iron on patches. They came in a package from Zellers for $5.99, in black, blue, green and tan. I plan on cutting them to size as they are 5x6 inches. I will sew them on, possibly by hand if I cannot fit it on the machine (the zipper on the pockets is right there, the cuffs should be fine). After that, I will hit them with the iron to set the adhesive. Should be good and strong.
For the pocket - I think I will pick out a funky pattern, my really liked the Kaffe Fassett prints I am using in my pinwheel - so maybe one of those. Or I may just use some left over cream white material from my oven mitts.
I am off for Seba Beach tomorrow, so I may not be able to post until I get back.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Cheers,
Carolyn

  1. Good luck with that jacket. I think I would have used a marking pen on the worn edges. Have a great time in Seba Beach!
