Table runner for Pappa

My Dad's new wife loves sunflowers - she LOVES them. I had some contemporary sunflower printed material so I made them a table runner for Christmas. My Mom was kind enough to take it to them so I could save on the postage. (Terrible I know, I am sooo cheap, but a buck is a buck and we are still in a recession!)
Here it is:
I just made up the pattern as I went along.
I hope they like these fabrics, I just love them.
For the quilting, I did a free style - free motion. Again, just making it up as I went along.
Close up of stitching on the back.
I had to both laugh and cry at my husbands comment - he told me that he preferred the back and would use it that way. Hmp!
All done and folded up - ready for gift wrap. I made my little button strap again with some left over fabric.
Cheers,
Carolyn

  1. This is beautiful, and so simple (I mean that in a good way). Is the button strap attached, or just for presentation?

  2. Men!!! Some days it is hard to decide whether you want to kiss them or smack then a good one!
Your runner is charming--the recipient will be thrilled with it!
