Just how does a winter city keep it's streets clear do you ask?

Like this!

By the time they were done, my street was cleared to the pavement from curb to curb. I was disappointed at first that the new emergency route was my street, but now that we get a plowed street - my opinion is changing. I got my hair cut on the other side of downtown and they have not had their streets plowed once with all this snow - I got stuck parking. The roads are all ruts and its just a mess. But not my street =)

Too bad the city doesn't come out to shovel the snow away from my house to prevent flooding. That is our job.
I got this far, thought I was going to die and then quit.
How are the rest of you faring this winter?
Cheers,
Carolyn

  1. Carolyn, I'm taking it all in with how others are handling the snow this year since we don't get too much here. Hubby and I grew up in the snow - south of Buffalo, NY so we can totally relate.

  2. I've never seen the like! How interesting that they haul the snow away in dump trucks. I'm still glad it's there and not here. We're at 56 degrees Fahrenheit (13.3 C) today. Yippee!
