Little Sewing

I got my blocks done and ready to be sent out this Monday  for my two bees. I really enjoyed making both of them. Here they are:

I hope my bee mates like them.

Granite Counter top Shout Out! Thank You Urban Granite Transformations

I was so excited to get the photos of the kitchen up, I forgot to mention the fantastic company we got the granite counter tops from - Urban Granite Transformation.
Let me show you my beautiful counter again.

From the original email I sent asking for someone to contact me for a quote to the installers putting everything in place, Urban Granite made the process painless. Plus the price was great, I got quotes from every granite shop I could find and Urban Granite came in the best.
Thank you Urban Granite Transformations!
Cheers,
Carolyn

Kitchen update - a look back

OK, this is hilarious. I found the video I took when we originally looked at this house and other then the obvious decor needing to be changed - we thought the house was awesome. OK, I thought the house was especially awesome. I have to give you a little back ground - we were living in the smallest ghetto apartment. It was dirty - the carpets had mold, one of the sets of neighbours were alcoholic, pot smoking party animals who slept all day, and then threw parties every night. On more then one occasion Mr. Hunter found someone either sleeping or doing drugs in the laundry room. We were desperate to get out. So when this house came up - for the price it was (the cheapness should have been a sign as we were in a housing boom) but like I said we were desperate.
So, prepare to laugh your socks off, here is the video I took of the house.
video
So lots has happened since that video - here is the kitchen today:

This is not even a quarter of the amount of photos we have taken - we are just in love with our new kitchen. There are still some things to do in this room - but its 95% there.
OK, I know you want to comment on how many times I said "this house is amazing" in my video. It's alright, you can tease me, I obviously had some thick rose colored glasses on!
Cheers,
Carolyn

My cousin is missing - please help.

Hi, My cousin Ryan Lane who lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada has been missing since Tuesday.
I know lots of you are in the USA - but if you are in Canada - especially Alberta, can you please click on the link and check out his picture.
We want him home - now, safe and sound. He is a straight lace kid, who loves his family, he is responsible and this is not in his character at all. If you see him, please contact the number in the link.

Thank you for your help.
I will advise if there is an update,
Carolyn

Crown moulding is lovely

Not only lovely, it hides stuff. =) Like my inability to keep a steady hand at the ceiling.

Hey, like the white on the walls? That is where the cabinets go!! The painted spot in the middle is the stove.

Carolyn

Tile is down - YEAH!

We did this over two days - I'm not really a diva requiring a wardrobe change. lol

Check out the caption on my shirt - Hell on Earth. hee hee, The kitchen no longer feels like hell on earth, it feels like a window into heaven actually, it's going to be awesome. It was however fitting to wear during the mudding and sanding - that sucked.

Mr. Hunter referred to the tile T's as our little soldiers. So when I collected them all I kept thinking, leave no man behind! They did a great job - the tiles are straight and fabulous.

Tadah!!
What do you think? Jealous?? Muhahahahaaaaa
Just kidding, don't be jealous of my new fabulous floor, it was a pain to put down, remember the removal of floor to the joists to make the floor level enough to lay these tiles. Pain in the butskey!
Cheers,
Carolyn
